About ROLOLIGHT
ROLOLIGHT SOFTBOX is a new breed of continuous fluorescent lighting system for photographers and videographers that has a number of unique features and benefits. The first, as the name describes, the Rololight can be rolled up to fit into a small carrying bag for ease of transport. This is particularly handy for out of studio photo shoots. A standard light kit and bag weights-in at less than 10 lbs.
The second unique feature is how each fluorescent light on the ROLOLIGHT SOFTBOX can be separated and detached so they can be individually light-up. This can be done as each light strip contains its own built-in electronic ballast! Therefore, in an 8 light unit kit you actually get 8 lights that can be used together in a rigid bank or apart as individual light strip. The detachable light feature is good to help with filler light or for tight spots such as inside a vehicle or behind a curtain to simulate daylight. Each kit comes with 4 or 8 lights and is available in a variety of different color temperatures (daylight balanced or tungsten). Interestingly, more lights can be added to the basic lighting by simply daisy chaining them together making it the industries first modular lighting system. Power consumption is minimal so multiple lighting units can be plugged into one electrical outlet without effecting output.
Lastly, ROLOLIGHT was designed to last. Each fluorescent light tube comes coated in a protective polycarbonate tubing to avoid breakage. In a demonstration at a recent tradeshow and on their website demo video, ROLOLIGHT drops the light from chest level onto the ground without a problem.
